bloomfield bathroom retreat
An idyllic combination of neutral elements + sentimental accents.
PROJECT DETAILS: vaulted ceilings, an expansive floorplan and decorative vanities might sound like a nice combination in a primary ensuite - for this one in particular, it felt a little too grandiose and impersonal. How did we change that? From a remodeling perspective, the layout was tightened to create a more intimate feel, modernized vanities and lighting were added, and a feature tile wall was a noteworthy addition. But the most important elements? They were (and always are) the personal accents. The antique Matisse poster (recently unearthed, not recently inherited). The bright orange side table (pre-loved and brought in from another spot in the house). A floral painting collected from childhood travels. The bathroom was beautiful upon completion, but the pieces that evoke memories and tell stories are always the most impactful layer you can gift a space.
