FAQs
How do I know which service is right for me?
Think of it this way: if you want direction and clarity → a Consultation is perfect. If you want a design plan you can confidently execute on your own → Partial Design is for you. And if you want a true partner to manage everything start to finish → Full Service is your match. If you're still unsure, we’ll talk through it together and find your best fit.
What should I expect to invest in your services?
My fees are based on my time, involvement, creative ideation, and the support I provide - not a percentage of your project budget. Once I understand the scope and goals for your space, I’ll outline an estimate that reflects the level of partnership you need.
What if you create a design for me that I don’t end up liking?
Hey - there’s always a possibility that I could present pieces of a design that you don’t connect with. The reason we go through such a detailed process in the beginning is so that we can minimize that potential as much as possible. I also include revisions with my partial and full design projects, so if we go through the first round and you’re not in love, we’ll take another crack at it together to try to get you to the best possible creative point.
Do you work with clients outside of Michigan?
Absolutely! I work with clients across the country through virtual services ALL! THE! TIME!! For Full Service projects outside of Michigan, I do have travel and onsite requirements. If you’re interested in learning more about what that entails, shoot me an email and we can connect on it!
How do purchasing and sourcing items work?
For Full Service projects, I handle sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and installation so you don’t have to juggle all the logistics. For Partial Design and Consults, I’ll provide links, direction, and recommendations so you can purchase at your own pace.
Can you work within my existing furniture or sentimental pieces?
Oh my gosh YES!!!! I love weaving meaningful pieces into the design. All of my projects start out with a detailed walkthrough of the elements in your home you’re looking to keep and what you’re okay parting with. With that being said, I’ll sometimes find that a client has an attachment to a rug (for example) because it was a recent purchase and they want to make use of it… and through longer discussions, sometimes we’ll find that the rug is the main thing keeping my client from achieving the actual space they want. So while I’ll always prioritize your sentimental pieces or general items you’re looking to repurpose, I’ll be equally transparent with you (through my Midwestern niceties) on what might not suit your aesthetic needs anymore.
What if I don’t know my design style?
That is literally my job - and honestly it’s one of my favorite parts. I do a lot of upfront work to understand how you live, how you envision the space, and what naturally inspires you so that we can create a space that doesn’t just fit into another categorical box of “coastal” or “eclectic”, but rather an entirely individualized representation of you and how you live.
Do you take on small projects or just full renovations?
I take on a mix. Some clients need help designing a single room; others need support with large-scale remodels. The goal is always the same: creating a space that feels like you - no project is too small for good design.
