HUNTINGTON WOODS, MI: KITCHEN
The classic situation where a kitchen is move-in ready (cabinets were great, hardware was great, flooring was done) - but it’s missing just one crucial component. PERSONALITY! Luckily, this space screamed really loud for some vertical, straight-stack, green tiles so there wasn’t a whole lot of work that needed to be done in terms of creative ideation. Just had to get the husband on board.

DETROIT, MI: LIVING ROOM
The focus of this project was to honor both the historic character of the home and the deeply personal elements my client brought to it. She has an incredible eye for design and a collection that reflects it—family heirlooms, custom sketches of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and pieces that carry real personal history. Paired with the home’s beautifully preserved original features, the design direction became a thoughtful balance of old and new. Our goal was to give her aesthetic the same level of presence as the architectural charm that was already there, allowing both to shine without competing. Also her dog Petey is a really nice lady and when she’s in trouble, she’s called “Peter” and I think that’s a really important aside.

NEW YORK, NY: BEDROOM
Gallery wall to the rescue - always! For this virtual project, my clients brought a bedframe, some art, their rug, and bedding from their previous place, everything else was up for purchase. That meant bringing in some cane nightstands, jewel-green table lamps, and then we had the chance to get creative with the decorative accents on the wall! And because they had chair rail trim that split the backdrop asymmetrically, it meant the gallery wall needed a lot of different pieces (in material, size and print) to make it feel cohesive. Mission very joyfully accomplished.

WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI: BASEMENT
Basements don’t have to feel like basements. There. I said it. For this family, it came down to thoughtful storage for the children’s toys (which was solved via built-in cabinets that surrounded the space), a large, double-chaise couch (for their expanding family to all kick back and watch movies together), of course we left in the ping pong table for heated matches that routinely take place, and added in a small round table to save space for games, quick bites, or a thoughtful spot for homework to happen. See?! Not a basement vibe anymore!

BLOOMFIELD, MI: BASEMENT BEDROOM
When a basement bedroom needs help, gets no natural light, and needs to be used as an inviting space for out-of-town guests - you don’t pretend to make it something it’s not. And by that I mean, it’s not a bright and sunny space - so don’t try to make it one! The best plan of action for my clients (who stated they only liked coastal and farmhouse vibes) was to add in some vertical ship-lap boards to the wall, color drench everything in a slated blue, get really warm wood furniture to soften it.. and then invest heavily in accent lights. What does that get you? A space that feels like a secret speakeasy but maybe we’ll just rebrand it.. it’s a sleep easy. OOOOOOO like what I did there?!

NAPLES, FL: CHILDREN’S ROOM
For this virtual project in Naples, Florida, the goal was to create a space that nodded to the beach without ever feeling theme-y or overly literal. The room was designed for four children—ages eight and under—so it needed to function beautifully for them today, while also having the longevity to grow with them over the next 15 years. Instead of leaning into obvious coastal décor, the design focused on softer cues: sun-washed colors, natural textures, and subtle coastal references that feel sophisticated rather than on-the-nose. Every selection balanced durability with design, ensuring the room could handle energetic play now and still feel intentional and inviting as the kids mature. The result is a space that feels bright, layered, and comfortably coastal—never kitschy, always timeless.
